Punjab sanctions Rs.17 crore for RRPRS to bolster its security



Badal Government has always been proactive when it comes to the security of the state. To strengthen its security further, the Government has commenced Rapid Rural Police Response System (RRPRS) with an outlay of Rs. 17 crores.

7.       The Punjab Government today finalized three consultants to give final shape to the proposals for smart cities Amritsar, Ludhiana and Jalandhar.
8.       Punjab sanctions Rs.17 crore for RRPRS to bolster its security.
The budget will be used to procure 250 jeeps, 250 motorcyles and other required equipment to operationalise the RRPRS. 

All vehicles will be fitted with the global positioning system (GPS) and night vision systems to conduct night patrolling in vulnerable areas.Being a border state, Punjab needs to have futuristic security to check any infiltrations. And releasing funds to upgrade the police force.

"But to combat the terrorists equipped with lethal weapons and latest technology, our Police force needs to be upgraded. We have already approached the centre to modernise the Punjab Police for better handling of infiltrations and safety of our brave men," he added.

He further said: "RRPRS will ensure round the clock patrolling in the hinterland, backed with swift and fitting response to any sort of emergency.
